RESEARCH IN MEDICAL SCIENCE

Much health research takes place in Greenland. Researchers from Denmark and foreign countries, however, often carry out the research. Therefore it is important to ensure that the research results benefit the citizens of Greenland and that the experience acquired is shared with health care workers and researchers in this country.

The doctors at Dronning Ingrids Hospital and the clinic in Nuuk and at more health centres outside Nuuk have initiated and take part in research projects on both a national and international scale. Most research projects in medical science are carried out in the context of international research networks.

The health care personnel outside Nuuk have participated in research projects at their health care centres and hospitals. These projects have had local, national, and international participation. In recent years, nurses and midwifes have established research educations and research projects, particularly within the field of public health.
